White Sox Win at New York, 7-3
The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox cranked it up at Yankee Stadium.

The Chicago White Sox defeated the New York Yankees, 7-3, in Federal League action at Yankee Stadium, with Chicago pitcher Shane Reynolds named player of the game. Reynolds picked up the win for Chicago, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3.

Francisco Cabrera had a big 2-run home run for the White Sox in the top of the fifth inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Brian Bohanon and stroked the home run to left. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the White Sox ahead, 4-0.

"Nice to get this one," said Cabrera. "Wins have been hard to come by."

The White Sox, with just their 9th win in 31 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
