Victory Over Spiders Takes Milwaukee to 20-11
The Milwaukee Creams did just enough to secure a 6-5 victory over the Cleveland Spiders at League Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Matt Young, who captured player of the game honors. Young went the distance for Milwaukee. He gave up 5 earned runs on 9 hits. At 20-11, the Creams have played well so far.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Mark Loretta came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Cleveland pitcher Steve Karsay, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Milwaukee on top, 6-5.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Loretta.
