Diamondbacks Turn Back Baltimore, 6-4
|
The Baltimore Orioles got a superb performance from third baseman Leo Gomez, but the Arizona Diamondbacks still won the game, 6-4. Gomez was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Arizona improves to 88-64 with the win. They lead their division by 7 games.
Arizona used the clutch hitting of Brian R. Hunter to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to give the Diamondbacks the lead, 4-0. For the game, Hunter had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Hunter.
