A 3-RBI performance from first baseman Bobby Bonilla, who finished 4th in the FL in hits with 191 in 1987, led the Florida Marlins to a 6-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Florida improves to 91-61 with the win. They lead their division by 6½ games.

One important at-bat for Florida came with one out in the top of the fifth inning. With a runner on 1st, Bonilla hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Marlins win.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Bonilla told the Florida Times.
