Sun Rays Prove Rude Guests, Win 4-2 at Pittsburgh
|
Orlando Sun Rays starter Andy Benes was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-2. The third-place Pirates have lost 4 straight games.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fourth inning. Facing Pittsburgh hurler Scott Sanders, Craig Biggio, who finished 3rd in the UL in batting average with .296 in 1988, got hit by a pitch. The Sun Rays went on to win.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Benes.
