Derek Jeter had a hand in Toronto defeating Detroit by the score of 10-7. Jeter went 3 for 5 at the plate, scoring 2 times and driving in 1 runs. It could have been a different outcome for Toronto, had it not been for Darrin Fletcher, the 30-year old catcher . Fletcher contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Toronto up, 10-7.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Toronto manager Jose Mata.
