Davis Excels, But Padres Win
|
Despite a great performance by Colorado designated hitter Glenn Davis, the San Diego Padres defeated the Rockies by the score of 13-8 at Mile High Stadium. Davis belted 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3. The third-place Padres are now 74-79, the Rockies 68-85.
San Diego needed the clutch hitting of Manny Ramirez to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Padres on top, 9-5. For the game, Ramirez had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Feels good to get the job done," Ramirez said after the game.
