Sun Rays Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
Orlando got a strong outing from Kevin Appier as the Sun Rays defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-2, at Three Rivers Stadium. Orlando reliever Greg McMichael picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jeff Calhoun shouldered the loss. Orlando goes to 89-65. The win puts them 6 games up in their division.
Will Clark was 1-6 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Orlando. In a tie game with one out in the top of the 13th, Clark came through with a 2-run home run. It put the Sun Rays in front, 4-2.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Clark told the Orlando Bulletin.
