|
Minnesota starter Pat Combs had a strong outing against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Even with the win, the Twins have a dismal 52-102 record.
Minnesota used the timely hitting of Tom M. Foley to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Twins ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
Foley said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
