Victory Over Cubs Takes Kansas City to 94-60
|
Kansas City Royals starter Kevin Brown pitched effectively against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 6-4 win. Kansas City improves to 94-60 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.
There were several reasons the Royals beat the Cubs, but one factor was Dan Pasqua. In the top of the fourth, the Kansas City right fielder came to bat and hit a run-scoring double. It staked his team to a 2-1 lead.
Pasqua said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
