Senators Rally to Eke Out Win
The Washington Senators did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Expos at RFK Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jim Neidlinger, who captured player of the game honors. The Senators have an impressive 95-59 record.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Albert Belle came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Montreal pitcher Mike Jeffcoat, he hit a 3-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Washington on top, 2-1.

"I like our moxie," said Senators manager Alexander Cumana.
