Orioles Stumble, Lose to Mets
|
New York designated hitter Hal Morris played a vital role in his team's 8-4 triumph over Baltimore. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for New York. Takehiro Ishii got credit for the win, improving to 16-7. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in 7.2 innings. Lee Smith was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 25 save opportunities.
Morris delivered in the bottom of the third inning for New York. With the game tied and a runner on 1st, the designated hitter hit a 2-run home run to left.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Morris, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
New York is now riding a 3-game win streak.
