Los Angeles starter Ramiro Mendoza put a stranglehold on the Seattle offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the Dodgers to a 6-1 win. Ricardo Rincon notched his 29th save in 36 chances. The first-place Dodgers have won 4 straight.

It could have been a different outcome for Los Angeles, had it not been for Brian L Hunter, the 26-year old left fielder . Hunter contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Los Angeles up, 2-0.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Hunter.
