Texas and Pittsburgh duked it out at Three Rivers Stadium and the Rangers came out victorious.

The Texas Rangers turned back the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-3, at Three Rivers Stadium. Brian McRae was named player of the game for his fine performance. He belted 2 home runs. With the loss, Pittsburgh drops to 17-13.

Rey Sanchez had a productive at-bat for the Rangers with one out in the top of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the shortstop hit a single. The at-bat was important in the Texas win.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Texas manager Sean Norman.
