Cormier Breezes to Shutout Victory
|
Rheal Cormier spun his magic in a 3-0 shutout victory at Wrigley Field today, leading the Kansas City Royals to victory, 3-0 over the Chicago Cubs. The Kansas City pitcher put quite a spell on Chicago in a strong performance, allowing 4 hits while totaling 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.
"I had a lot of good things working in this one," Cormier said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."
On his stats sheet for the year Cormier shows a 19-6 record, 32 starts, 240.2 innings, 184 strikeouts and a 3.59 ERA.
