It was a good time at Kingdome, where fans came to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle Pilots get after it.

Cliff Brantley never let the Dodgers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Pilots to a 6-1 win. In 5 innings, Brantley surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Jose Lima converted his 7th save in 13 tries.

Bruce Aven chipped in for Seattle with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Aven said.

The win puts the Pilots at 66-89, while the Dodgers drop to 81-74.
