Red Sox Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Boston Red Sox did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Cleveland Spiders at Fenway Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Pete Harnisch, who captured player of the game honors. Boston is 5th in the Federal League East Division with a record of 61-97.
With two out in the bottom of the tenth, Barry Bonds had a game-changing hit. The Red Sox right fielder slammed a 2-run home run off Mark Wohlers, making the score 4-3, Boston.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Bonds told the Boston Gazette.
