Ruffin Dominant in Chicago Win
|
Comiskey Park was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Chicago starter Bruce Ruffin had a strong outing against the St. Louis Cardinals at Comiskey Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 1-0 win. The White Sox improved to 59-99.
Ruffin's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 8.1 innings while allowing 5 hits. Ruffin, who finished 2nd in the FL in ERA with 2.97 in 1990, goes to 14-10 on the year with 208 strikeouts.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said St. Louis manager Adam Rabel. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
