Victory Pushes Cardinals Record to 94-64
St. Louis beat Chicago on the strength of starter Marty Bystrom's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 7-1 win. The Cardinals bumped their record to 94-64 with this latest triumph.

It could have been a different outcome for St. Louis, had it not been for Karim Garcia, the 20-year old right fielder . Garcia contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put St. Louis up, 2-0.

"We'll savor this win," Garcia told the St. Louis Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
