Senators Lose Again, 5-2, to Marlins
|
Florida got a strong outing from Chris Hammond as the Marlins defeated the Washington Senators, 5-2, at Joe Robbie Stadium. The slumping Senators have lost 8 straight.
Alex Arias had a big 2-run single for the Marlins in the bottom of the first inning. With Florida leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Pat Mahomes and stroked the single to right-center. It was his 29th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marlins ahead, 3-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hammond said.
