Senators Lose to Dodgers, 6-2
|
Getting a good performance from left fielder Brian L Hunter, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Washington Senators, 6-2. Hunter went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Dodgers. Ramiro Mendoza picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 2-2. Losses have been rare for the Senators, who are now 21-9.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Los Angeles got a break when Hunter went to the plate. With two outs, runners on 1st and 2nd and the Dodgers leading 3-2, Hunter hit a run-scoring single.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Hunter.
