Expos Lose to Blue Jays, 7-0
|
Toronto Blue Jays starter Melido Perez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Montreal Expos, 7-0. In 8 innings, Perez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The Blue Jays bumped their record to 94-66 with this latest triumph.
In the bottom of the eighth, with Toronto leading 4-0, third baseman Dean Palmer hit a 3-run home run. The hit came off Pat Hentgen and put the Blue Jays ahead, 7-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Toronto manager Jose Mata.
