Clemens Finds Groove in 7-1 Triumph
|
The Montreal Expos got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Roger Clemens, but it was good enough for the club to take a 7-1 decision over the Detroit Tigers. Montreal has now won 5 games in a row.
Clemens's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 6 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 5 hits. Clemens, who led the UL in ERA with 2.60 last year, goes to 6-2 on the year with 57 strikeouts.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Clemens.
