Rangers Beat Visiting Cubs, 12-3
|
Not everyone stuck through the 43-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Texas starter Jimmy Key pitched effectively against the Chicago Cubs at Arlington Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a 12-3 win. In 8 innings, Key surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the third inning, but Key was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Chicago trailing 2-0, Key retired Bob Brower, who struck out.
Today's win puts Texas at 72-90, while Chicago falls to 95-67.
