Getting a good performance from first baseman J.T. Snow, the Seattle Pilots defeated the Oakland Athletics, 5-4. Snow went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Pilots. Wally Whitehurst got the win, improving to 18-9. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Darren Holmes got the save, his 9th in 16 chances.
Flexing his muscles for Seattle was the aforementioned Snow. The first baseman had a 3-run home run in the top of the first for the Pilots. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Seattle manager Robert O'Neill.
The winning continues for Seattle, with the latest making it 7 straight.
