Giants Lose to Dodgers, 3-0
|
Los Angeles starter Roger Clemens put a stranglehold on the San Francisco offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Dodgers to a 3-0 win. Clemens picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 13-9. Blas Minor notched his 15th save in 20 chances.
Ryan Klesko had a big run-scoring single for the Dodgers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from Butch Henry and stroked the single to right. It was his 160th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dodgers ahead, 2-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Los Angeles manager Andrew Cole.
Their 95-67 record puts the Dodgers second in the United League West Division.
