Victory Pushes Royals Record to 22-10
|
Kansas City Royals starter Denny Neagle was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Cleveland Spiders, 5-1. The Royals keep rolling, raising their record to 22-10.
Rick Wilkins was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Kansas City. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 1st, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run home run off Bret Saberhagen. It was his 6th home run of the season.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Neagle said.
