The Montreal Expos had to overcome a big game from Arizona catcher Bobby M Estalella to leave Bank One Ballpark with a 5-4 victory. Estalella went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mark Guthrie got the win, improving to 6-0. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The Expos, now 22-10, have been on a roll in the early going.

Gregg Jefferies had a critical at-bat with no one out in the top of the fifth for Montreal. He came through with a 2-run home run to put Montreal in front, 3-2.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Jefferies said.
