The Minnesota Twins beat the Orlando Devil Rays, 8-6, at Metrodome. Minnesota designated hitter Kal Daniels earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Minnesota reliever Jerry Spradlin picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jimmy Key shouldered the loss. Picking up the save was Trevor Hoffman, his 1st.

Frank Thomas put Minnesota in front, 7-2, when he took Jimmy Key downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the second. It was his 1st home run of the season.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Daniels told the Minnesota Herald.

Minnesota, at 3-1, is off to a blistering start.
