Mets Hapless Against Rockies, Wegman
|
Colorado starter Bill Wegman put a stranglehold on the New York offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Rockies to a 5-0 win. Colorado has now won 4 straight.
Wegman was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 2-1. In 8 innings of work, Wegman gave up no earned runs on 2 hits, while striking out 5. The Mets were never able to generate much offense.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Colorado manager . "Our pregame was pretty good."
