|
Cleveland right-hander Ron Robinson made an effective start against the Texas Rangers at League Park, leading his team to a 6-3 win. Getting the save was Sterling Hitchcock, his 8th. After today's action, Cleveland sits at 12-22, while Texas falls to 18-17.
The Spiders got a big at-bat from right fielder Bernard Gilkey. For the game, Gilkey was 1-4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 28th hit of the season gave Cleveland a 5-3 lead.
