Yankees Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
The New York Yankees topped the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-3, in Federal League action at Busch Stadium. The player of the game was New York pitcher Shawn Estes. The Yankees have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 4 games.

New York used the timely hitting of Roberto Kelly to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Yankees on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame comments to the New York Citizen, Estes said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
