Olivares Finishes Off Marlins
|
The San Francisco Giants picked up a win at Candlestick Park, knocking off the Florida Marlins, 7-1. Starting pitcher Omar Olivares, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. San Francisco has now won 4 straight.
Olivares, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 2-3. In 9 innings of work, Olivares gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while racking up 6 Ks. He kept the Marlins punchless, offensively.
"Omar was throwing strikes, locating well," said San Francisco manager Alen Maglajac.
