Cubs Subdue New York, 3-2
|
Chicago Cubs starter Eric King was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the New York Yankees, 3-2. King went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-0. The Cubs raised their record to 3-1.
The Cubs got a lift from third baseman Vinny Castilla who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning off Brian Bohanon. It was his 1st RBI of the season and put Chicago in front, 2-1.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said New York manager Tigerr Wolfe.
