The New York Yankees topped the Chicago Cubs, 8-4, in Federal League action at Yankee Stadium. The player of the game was New York right fielder Bobby Abreu. New York is now 11-23, Chicago 21-14.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 14th, Travis Fryman delivered the knockout blow when he hit a walk-off grand slam to win it for New York. In the contest, Fryman was 2-7 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
