Giants Get Road Win, 3-1
|
San Francisco and Baltimore played a hard-fought contest at Memorial Stadium.
San Francisco Giants starter Omar Daal was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Baltimore Orioles, 3-1. Daal, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Randy Myers nailed down his 7th save.
With two out in the top of the fifth, Rondell White had a game-changing hit. The Giants right fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Ben McDonald, making the score 2-0, San Francisco.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Daal. "Successful pitchers do it."
San Francisco has an impressive 26-8 record.
