Yankees Get Close Win Over Reds
New York Yankees starter Brian Bohanon was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Cincinnati Reds, 7-3. New York reliever German Jimenez picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Mike Mussina was collared with the loss. The Yankees' win now puts them at 17-18.

The Reds had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Yankees going into the top of the ninth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old second baseman Andy Stankiewicz came to the plate. Stankiewicz hit a run-scoring single on a full count fastball from Cincinnati hurler Mike Mussina. It was Stankiewicz's 25th hit of the year.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Bohanon. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
