Rangers Win at Chicago, 5-2
|
Getting an impressive start from Derek Lilliquist, Texas beat Chicago by the score of 5-2. In 8 innings, Lilliquist surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up the save was Rob Murphy, his 6th.
It could have been a different outcome for Texas, had it not been for Gerald Young, the 30-year old right fielder . Young contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Texas up, 2-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Texas skipper Sean Norman.
The Rangers bumped their record to 19-17 with this latest triumph.
