Williams Helps Expos Run Win Streak to 8
The Montreal Expos extended their winning streak at RFK Stadium.

The Montreal Expos downed the Washington Senators, 11-5, at RFK Stadium. Matt Williams led the way, going 4-for-6 for Montreal. Pedro Martinez, who went 7.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 14. His record now stands at 4-3.

Williams had a key at-bat for Montreal early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and gave Montreal an early 1-0 lead.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Montreal manager David Polakoff.

The Expos, now 26-10, have won 8 in a row.
