Senators Shut Out Dodgers
|
The Washington Senators defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-0. Earning player of the game honors was first baseman Rafael Palmeiro, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Washington reliever Rosario Rodriguez picked up the win to move to 1-0. Aaron Sele suffered the loss. The Senators, with just their 1st win in 4 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Mike Stanley put Washington in front, 4-0, when he took Aaron Sele downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 2nd home run of the season.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Los Angeles manager Andrew Cole.
