The skies opened up and the rain fell at RFK Stadium.

Montreal first baseman Chris Brown was instrumental in his team's 9-6 win over the Washington Senators. Brown, who is a two-time All-Star, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Expos. The Expos improved to a lofty 27-10.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With one out, Gregg Jefferies hit a 1-1 fastball from Milt Hill for a 3-run home run. It put Montreal in front, 9-6.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Brown.
