Orioles Bridle Blue Jays, 3-2
|
Baltimore got a strong outing from Rod Nichols as the Orioles defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-2, at SkyDome. Nichols got the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Nichols allowed 2 earned runs. Even with the win, the Orioles have a dismal 12-24 record.
The Orioles beat the Blue Jays with some clutch hitting. The double by Jacob Brumfield in the top of the sixth is a good example. With two down, Brumfield gave his team the lead, 3-1, when he came through with the big hit.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Brumfield.
