Rockies Prove Rude Guests, Win 6-2 at San Diego
|
Colorado rode a decent outing from starter Jason Schmidt to victory over the San Diego Padres at Jack Murphy Stadium. The final score was 6-2. Colorado leads the United League West Division by 3½ games.
It could have been a different outcome for Colorado, had it not been for Bob Hamelin, the 29-year old first baseman . Hamelin contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Colorado up, 3-0.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Schmidt said.
