The Cleveland Spiders eked out a 5-4 win versus the Orlando Sun Rays at Orlando Citrus Bowl. Nobody did more than pitcher Masaki Saito, who captured player of the game honors. Sterling Hitchcock picked up the save for Cleveland, his 10th of the year. The Spiders, now 14-23, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

It could have been a different outcome for Cleveland, had it not been for Howard Johnson, the eight-time All-Star . Johnson contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Cleveland up, 5-4.

"We did enough to win," said Johnson.
