Martinez Now 3-2 After Subduing Senators

Pitcher Pedro Martinez was sensational for the Montreal Expos in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Washington Senators. Martinez received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Ken Howell recorded the save for Montreal, his 7th of the season. The Expos bumped their record to 19-18 with this latest triumph.
Martinez allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 8 innings for the Expos. He walked 2 and struck out 12.
"We'll savor this win," Martinez told the Montreal Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
