Washington Senators starter John Burkett was in fine form against the Montreal Expos at RFK Stadium, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Washington is 24-13 and Montreal, with the loss, 27-11.

Washington took a 4-1 lead on Albert Belle's 41st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Belle hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Montreal pitcher Jon Lieber shaking his head.

"Nothing fazes John," said Washington manager Alexander Cumana.
