Padres Get Road Win, 2-0
|
San Diego Padres starter Tom Rowe was in fine form against the San Francisco Giants at Candlestick Park, leading his team to a 2-0 win. Rowe picked up the win for San Diego, going 8 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-6. Even with the win, the Padres have a dismal 10-28 record.
San Diego used the timely hitting of Phil B. Clark to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Padres on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to get this one," said Rowe. "Wins have been hard to come by."
