Sun Rays Fall Short, 2-1, at Boston
|
Fans who gathered at Fenway Park saw a good contest between the Boston Red Sox and Orlando Sun Rays.
Boston Red Sox starter Tom Gordon was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Orlando Sun Rays, 2-1. The third-place Red Sox are now 20-18, the Sun Rays 20-18.
Barry Bonds, who finished 3rd in the FL in slugging percentage with .645 in 1987, aided the Boston cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run.
"Tom was throwing strikes, locating well," said Boston manager Brett Williams.
