Neidlinger, Tigers Dispatch Orioles
|
Detroit starter Jim Neidlinger had a strong outing against the Baltimore Orioles at Memorial Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. Mike Perez sewed up the save, his 6th. The Tigers, now 14-24, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Neidlinger was effective against the Orioles, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Baltimore to just 1 run on 2 hits over 8 innings.
"I was a little disappointed," said Baltimore manager Daniel Ward. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
