Gilkey hits 2 home runs as Spiders Squeeze Past New York
Cleveland beat New York at League Park, eking out a 7-6 win. The win was due in large part to right fielder Bernard Gilkey, who earned player of the game honors. The Spiders saw their win-loss record go to 15-24. At the same time, the Yankees fell to 18-21.

Gilkey had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the sixth when the two-time All-Star hit a 3-run home run. The home run gave Cleveland the lead, 7-4. It was his 7th home run of the season.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Gilkey.
