Victory Pushes Orioles Record to 23-17
|
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at RFK Stadium, knocking off the Washington Senators, 7-3. Starting pitcher Ben McDonald was an essential part of his team's success. McDonald picked up the win for Baltimore, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. The first-place Orioles lifted their record to 23-17.
It could have been a different outcome for Baltimore, had it not been for Leo Gomez, the slugging third baseman . Gomez contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Baltimore up, 3-2.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," McDonald told the Baltimore Daily. "It's as simple as that."
