Blue Jays Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Senators
|
Toronto pitcher Chris Hammond did his part in helping his team beat the Washington Senators, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Toronto is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Dean Palmer was vital part of the Toronto win. He was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the eighth with one out, Palmer hit a 2-run double. It made the score 5-3, in favor of the Blue Jays.
Palmer said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
