Victory Over Tigers Takes Washington to 25-14
Washington rode a fine outing from starter Kevin Millwood to victory over the Detroit Tigers at RFK Stadium. The final score was 6-2. Jim Poole earned the save for Washington, his 2nd of the year. The Senators, now 25-14, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

Willie Greene had a big 2-run double for the Senators in the bottom of the third inning. With Washington leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Kevin Gross and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Senators ahead, 5-2.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Washington manager Alexander Cumana.
