Dodgers Roll to 9-3 Win Over Athletics
|
The Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers cranked it up at Dodger Stadium.
Rafael Palmeiro made an impact in the 9-3 Los Angeles win over Oakland. Palmeiro, who finished 4th in the UL in OPS with .922 last year, was 1-2 with a double and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles starter Greg Maddux was credited with the win after throwing 77 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 5-2.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Palmeiro, who is tied for 5th in the UL in home runs with 13, hit a 2-run double. It propelled the Dodgers into the lead, 3-1.
"We maximized our offense today," said Los Angeles skipper Dave Ginter. "That makes everyone's life easier."
The Dodgers now have a record of 20-21 with the win over Oakland.
